Shelia Interview Mrs.Diggs

On Thursday, February 6, I sat down with Traci Diggs a counselor at Stanly academy learning center and interview her. The following is a transcript of the interview.

SJ: How long have you been a staff?

TD: I have been a staff for 13 years. I started teaching middle school as lateral entry teacher after the pharmaceutical company I worked for closed down I started teaching at Albemarle High School then I started working on my masters in counseling and moved to the Academy.

SJ: Do you enjoy working as a staff?

TD: Yes I love working at the academy because there’s never a duel moment.

SJ: What are your favorite things to do?

TD: I love to shop with my two teenage daughters. I like to scrapbook and sing in the choir.

SJ: Name something you have learned while working in education?

TD: I have learned i am more patience then I thought I could ever be. I met people from a lot of different backgrounds. I have found that I am excepting from all people. I have seen there’s good in everyone and some people have a hard time realizing that about themselves.

SJ: What is your favorite part about being a staff?

TD: The interaction with students, being able to see and talk to the student’s everyday.

SJ: What are your least favorite things about being a staff?

TD: All the extra things that I have to do like testing and making the master schedule can be difficult.

SJ: How do you use what you learn at work at home?
TD: It opens my eyes to some of the same struggles they may have face and sometimes it makes me except more out of them because they don’t face half of the challenges that I see our students face.

SJ: Where do you see yourself in years?

TD: I see myself still being a counselor and I would like to have completed National board certification and I would be getting excited about getting ready for retirement at the beach.
